The Farmers Market

We love to be known for our horticultural abilities, grape growing, organic produce etc... you get the idea and there is no better way to showcase our delicious seasonal fruit and vegetables than at the weekly Farmers Market.
Held from 9.30-12 every Saturday on the corner of Peel and Stout Street.
Everything is local and picked fresh that morning and sold out of the back of cars and trucks.
The smell of freshly baked bread wafts throughout the market. Mark from Morrells Artisan Bakery can be seen driving backwards and forwards to pick up fresh batches of bread. The Longbush Wine stall sells a vast range of locally grown wines with the Market Wine selling crazy cheap for such a tasty drop. Next door his brother from Waimata Cheese sells a variety of boutique cheeses directly out of the factory that morning. Kauri Cottage has the most beautiful bunches of roses to be bought and thrown haphazardly into a vase ( a weekly must). There are many more wonderful stores to visit and the perfect way to do you weekly shopping avoiding the superstores that I despise (the new Bunnings may be an exception, sorry). And last but not least visit Wendy from Green Blessings at her gorgeous little stall to purchase beautifully made skin-care, oils and teas all made with local herbs and love.
