PAULNACHE

Star Gossage

John Blackburn Installation View

Opposite The Winemakers Daughters is a small door, next to the small door is a large sign. It looks something like this.....

PAU
LNA
CHE

To an uneducated eye the sign seems obscure but through the small door and up the stairs is an art gallery that goes by the name of PAULNACHE.

PAULNACHE is run by two friends; Matt and Gene. They meet at design school years ago and from what I have gathered had the idea of opening a gallery rattling around in their full to bursting minds for a while, until Matt came home to Gisborne one summer and stumbled across a unused space filled with light and begging to be turned into an art gallery. Thus their gallery was born and these two delightful men have been bringing fantastic artists to Gisborne for the last five years... and hopefully for many more to come.

They represent many of New Zealand's up and coming young artists, they show only what they love and respect, each exhibition is carefully chosen and hung with care. Among the amazing young talent they slot in big names, artist's that have been in the game for years so whether you know what you love or you need a little help to add to your collection Matt and Gene will give you invaluable advice and a wonderful experience.

PAULNACHE is open from 10-5 Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and 10-3 Saturday, or join them on the first Friday of every month to celebrate their new exhibition opening.

Cnr Grey Street and Gladstone Road , Gisborne

Or visit their web-site http://www.paulnache.com/
