The cut is a precious little place.
2 minute drive from the city centre or a 15 minute walk around the beautiful river walkway, it is a wonderful little spot for dinner on the beach or an afternoon coffee (pity there is no cafe near by).
I find it has a serene quality that can never be disturbed. Young kids fish out of little dingy's, waka's paddle past and 50 metres away huge container ships are being loaded with logs to be taken far away. But for some reason these activity's never disturb the peace, it remains calm, relaxing and in my opinion one of the most beautiful sites in Gisborne.
And of course I can't forget Young Nick's Head. Turn your head 45 degrees and you will know what I mean.
